Take the cake

In a pinch, this golden nugget can act as a potent waybread. The elders say they wield healing properties as well, which is why larger stores of them are often kept for the old and sick. It has been some years since any scavengers have brought any back. In decades past, they were brought in by the crateload from warehouses and bunkers. 

 

You suspect that many adventurers simply eat the cakes as they find them. You hope that you never stoop to such degenerate selfishness, but adventuring is a hard life. This line of thought reminds you of your mission, and you shudder briefly.

 

You stuff the cake in a bag attached to your belt and move on.
