Overjoyed, the riders cheer and gallop their steeds in circles about your divine form. The thane looks as if he is about to cry and drops his head in shame and gratitude.
“With you leading our ranks, the forces of evil will surely scatter and innocence can once again return to the lands of men.”
Flying at the thane’s side, you and your host begin the long ride to battle. The going is slower on the ground than it would have been soaring the clouds. The path is also less direct--a day or more is lost in the mustering of warriors from various other steppe tribes. The forces of the horse army are bolstered, but not by much.
